Exciting news from Long Ashton Bowling Club!💥

Free membership for young players. Come and give it a go!
Give Lawn Bowls a Go – It’s Not What You Think!🤔
If you’re aged 12–18 and looking for a new sport to try, lawn bowls might not be the first thing that springs to mind… but maybe it should be.
Lawn bowls is fast becoming a sport for all ages, and at Long Ashton Bowling Club we’re keen to show young people just how fun, social, and competitive it can be.
To make it even easier to get involved, we’re offering free membership and free coaching to young people living in Long Ashton, Failand, and Flax Bourton.
Why bowls?
Bowls isn’t just about gently rolling a ball (we promise!). It’s a game of skill, strategy, and nerve. Every end is different, every shot matters, and there’s always a chance to turn the game around with one great bowl.
It’s easy to learn, but challenging to master – which makes it seriously addictive.
It’s also a brilliant way to:
Try a new sport in a friendly, pressure-free environment
Improve focus, coordination, and tactical thinking
Compete individually or as part of a team
Meet new people and make friends outside of school
No experience? No problem.
You don’t need to have played before – or even watched a game. Our qualified coaches will teach you everything from the basics to match play, at your own pace. All equipment is provided, so you just need to turn up and have a go.
More than just a sport
At Long Ashton Bowling Club, bowls is about community as much as competition. You’ll be part of a welcoming club that values encouragement, teamwork, and having a laugh along the way.
Whether you want to play socially, improve your skills, or even compete in youth competitions, there’s a place for you here.
Ready to try something different?
If you live in Long Ashton, Failand, or Flax Bourton and are aged 12–18, this is your chance to discover a sport you might end up loving.
Come along, roll a few bowls, and see what it’s all about.
Message us to find out how you can get involved.
